Dear Beary is designed to be completely private. We do NOT collect:

• Your diary entries or any written content
• Voice recordings or audio data
• Personal information (name, email, phone number)
• Device information or identifiers
• Usage analytics or behavior data

• Any other personal or sensitive information

Data Storage

All your diary entries are stored locally on your device only. Your data:

• Remains on your device at all times
• Is never uploaded to our servers or any cloud service
• Is not accessible to CRISPPIE STUDIO or any third parties
• Can only be accessed by you through the app

Third-Party Services

Dear Beary uses Vosk as an open-source speech recognition library that runs locally on your device. We do not integrate with any cloud-based services, analytics platforms, or advertising networks. The app functions completely independently without external connections.

Ko-fi Support Integration

Dear Beary includes an optional support button that links to our Ko-fi page. This integration:

• Only opens an external link when you choose to tap it
• Does not automatically send any data to Ko-fi
• Does not track whether you visit the Ko-fi page
• Is completely optional - you can ignore this feature
• Any donations made are handled entirely by Ko-fi's privacy policy

App Permissions

Dear Beary requests the following permissions to provide its core functionality. All permissions are used only for the stated purposes and no data is transmitted outside your device:

Essential App Functionality

• Microphone (RECORD_AUDIO): To capture voice input for speech-to-text conversion using Vosk (processed locally only)
• Storage Access (READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE, WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE): To save and retrieve your diary entries on your device's storage
• Notifications (POST_NOTIFICATIONS): To send reminders or app-related notifications (if enabled by you)

Background and System Features

• Boot Receiver (RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED): To restart scheduled reminders after device restarts
• Alarms (SCHEDULE_EXACT_ALARM): To set precise reminder notifications for diary entries
• Wake Lock (WAKE_LOCK): To prevent the device from sleeping during voice input processing
• Vibration (VIBRATE): To provide haptic feedback for notifications and interactions

Important Notes

• All permissions are used solely for improving your app experience
• No data collected through these permissions is transmitted to external servers
• You can disable notifications in your device settings if desired
• Voice processing (microphone) happens entirely offline using Vosk
• Storage permissions only access app-specific directories

Voice Data Handling

When you use voice input in Dear Beary:

• Audio is processed immediately by Vosk on your device
• Converted text is saved as a diary entry (if you choose to save it)
• The original audio is immediately discarded
• No voice recordings are stored anywhere
• No audio data is transmitted over the internet
• Voice processing works completely offline

Data Security

Since all data remains on your device, the security of your diary entries depends on your device's security settings. We recommend:

• Using device lock screens (PIN, password, fingerprint)
• Keeping your device's operating system updated
• Being mindful of app permissions on your device
• Regular device backups if you want to preserve your entries
