About Majhi

Majhi is a short single-player narrative game developed and published by CRISPPIE STUDIO OÜ, an indie studio registered in Estonia. It is distributed on Steam, Google Play, and the Apple App Store.

Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or playing Majhi, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and by our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not play the game and uninstall it from your device.

These terms apply to all players on all platforms. They sit alongside the terms of the store you obtained the game from. Those apply to you as well.

What Majhi Is

Majhi is a short narrative game in which you ferry eight figures across a river and decide what you believe happened on the night they died. It is single-player, and has no multiplayer, chat, or user-generated content.

The game includes three achievements, which are reported to the achievement service of your platform. Nothing else about your play is recorded or transmitted.

The purchase is tied to your Google account and can be downloaded and restored on your devices through that account

Payments and Refunds

All payments are handled by the store you bought from. We do not process payments and cannot issue refunds ourselves.

Steam purchases are subject to Valve's refund policy
Google Play purchases are subject to Google's refund policy
App Store purchases are subject to Apple's refund policy

If you want a refund, please request it through the store you bought the game from. Consumer rights available to you under Estonian and EU law are not affected by these terms.

Licence to Play

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and play Majhi for your own personal, non-commercial use. You may not:

Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the game
Copy, distribute, sell, sublicense, or transfer the game to others
Extract, reuse, or redistribute the game's art, audio, writing, or code
Modify the game or create derivative works from it
Remove, obscure, or alter any copyright notice or branding
Circumvent the purchase that unlocks the full game on Android

You are welcome to stream, record, and publish video of yourself playing Majhi, including on monetised channels. That permission covers gameplay footage only, and does not extend to redistributing the game itself or its assets.

Age Requirements

Majhi is a story about death and includes descriptions of violence. It is not directed at children. Please check the age rating shown on the store page for your platform before buying or playing.

Majhi Does Not Save Your Progress

Majhi has no save system. It is designed to be played in one sitting and closing the game returns you to the beginning.

Closing or quitting the game ends that playthrough
You can replay from the beginning at any time at no additional cost

The game does keep a few small local records: your choice of language, which achievements you have earned, and, on Android, whether the full version has been unlocked. None of these is personal information.

Disclaimers and Warranties

Majhi is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind beyond those that cannot be excluded under applicable law. In particular, we do not warrant that:

Achievements will always be recorded successfully by the platform
The game will be free of errors, bugs, or interruptions
The game will run on every device, driver, or operating system version
The game will meet your specific expectations or requirements

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by Estonian law:

Maximum Liability: Our total liability for any claims arising from your use of Majhi is limited to the amount you actually paid for the game.

Excluded Damages:

We shall not be liable for:

Achievements that fail to register with Steam, Google, or Apple
Device or software issues arising from installing or running the game
Indirect, incidental, or consequential damages of any kind
Lost progress within a playthrough
Technical problems beyond our reasonable control

Why This Protection is Necessary: As an indie studio, our resources are limited compared to large corporations. This limitation of liability is essential for our ability to provide Majhi as an affordable product while remaining responsible developers.

Intellectual Property

Our rights

Majhi, including its story, characters, artwork, music, sound, code, and branding is owned by CRISPPIE STUDIO OÜ
It is protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws
All rights not expressly granted to you are reserved

Third-party components

Majhi is built with the Godot Engine and uses several open-source integration libraries, each under its own permissive licence
The full licence text for these is available in the game, under Third-Party Licenses on the title screen

Your rights

You own any video or written content you create about the game, subject to the streaming permission above

Force Majeure

We are not liable for delays or failures in performance due to circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including natural disasters, government actions, or technical infrastructure failures.

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless CRISPPIE STUDIO OÜ from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from:

Your use of Majhi in violation of these terms
Your violation of applicable laws while using the app
Content you create, share, or distribute using the app
Your failure to secure your device appropriately

International Use and Governing Law

Governing Law:

These terms are governed by the laws of Estonia, without regard to conflict of law principles.

Jurisdiction:

Any disputes arising from these terms or your use of Majhi shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of Estonian courts.

International Users:

Users outside Estonia acknowledge that:

Estonian law governs regardless of your location
Some features may not be available in all countries
You are responsible for compliance with local laws

Dispute Resolution

Informal Resolution: Before filing any formal claim, please contact us through our social media to attempt resolution.

Estonian Law: Any legal disputes will be resolved under Estonian jurisdiction and law.

Severability

If any provision of these terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.

App Updates and Changes

Modifications:

We may update Majhi to add features, fix bugs, or improve performance
We may modify or discontinue features with reasonable notice when possible
Continued use after updates constitutes acceptance of changes

Material changes will be communicated through the app or app store
